Snow!

It snowed in Saint George a few times over the past few weeks, it has all pretty much melted away now, with the exception of a few well made snowmen that are still holding together. It has been fun to get a little bit of snow here, it is something that does not happen here very often.
This picture is from Nick Adams (fotobloggumbo.com) of the snow fall.

Acting Dave

Some very exciting news has been happening around the Andersen house but Dave has been forbidding me from telling people. I did however, sneak and told his dad, brother, and sisters anyway. Now I just can not keep it a secret any longer and it is going on our blog.
In September Dave saw an open call audition for a indie short film, and thought he would give it a try. He went to the audition, his first ever audition outside of the high school and middle school plays he was in, and landed a part! It is a small supporting role. It is a very important role though, because his character sets the whole tone of the movie. His characters name is Evil. So that was very exciting to land a role on the first try out. It was going to wrap filming the weekend before Thanksgiving. Then be shown on the Festival Circuit (Sundance, Cannes etc.) for about a year. It is also being submitted as a pilot to possibly be made into a full length feature. It will likely get recast if that happens but its still cool!

He has also filmed two commercials for the "Spot On Competition". This is a competition that UT does. The commercials are intended to show UT as a filmable, and desirable location. The winning commercials are shown on the Travel Channel, another channel I dont remember, and are selected to air at different Film Festivals. So keep your fingers crossed.

Two days ago Dave gets a call from the director, the movie is being put on hold it will now wrap filming in either December of January, because they just got green lighted for St. Georges first ever sitcom and it has to be done in December. They have The Echo and other running programs here but not a sitcom. So we are a little bummed except that they want Dave to be in the sitcom!!!! They will be shooting four episodes that will appear on Dtv, if the show does well it will get picked up for a whole season. If it has high ratings it might be shown an KSL, airing on all of Utah

The First ad for the new show!

Midnight Halloween

For Halloween this year we trick or treated with my family and then to the movie.
Dave's friend Sheldon, runs the the movie theaters in Saint George. At one of the theaters they were going to be showing a midnight special of the 1956 film Invasion of the Body Snatchers and he invited us to go. It was a lot of fun. I think every town needs a theater that shows old films. It is amazing the difference between then and now, it did not have a lot of special affects, but it did not need them because there was an actual story line.

Impromptu Photo Shoot

I should have another photo shoot from July by Nick Adams to post in a few weeks. This was done in June.
My friend Pamala does marketing for business around the world she recently moved to Saint George and was throwing a Gala event, for the event she had scheduled her renowned photographer friend James Van Alden to come and take photos ( as well as David Carradine to play guitar, he is in Kill Bill and loads of other movies.) Pamala thought it would be a great idea to have James take pictures of me while he was in town from LA the only trouble was Dave and I were already going out of town that weekend. The morning after the Gala, literally on his way home James, Pamala, and Alice Walker all decided to stop by my antique store for a little impromptu photo shoot. I was not expecting them so it is completely un-styled, just me what I happened to be wearing that day, and how I had done my makeup and hair(had I known it would have been done different). It was only about twenty minutes long but a lot of fun in the middle of my antique store with customers all around! He asked me not to smile. He only shoots on film a camera from the 1970’s, no lighting, no digital, no Photoshop, a photographer of old.
These are two images from our little session, he has one on his website now, and has told Pamala he wants to put one in his next book, so that is exciting!
Here is his website you should take a look he does a good job, the colors he gets with natural lighting is amazing. He does not have the socialite link is (not up right now) is a spread that came out in a European magazine a few weeks ago
This happened the last week of May but I just now received images that I could post.

...........A little disclaimer if you look around his site there are a few nude images.

Sarah's Birthday!

My Birthday was on August 15th, we went to Samauri of course, I drug Dave my mom, Dad and my brother Josh to Sisterhood of Traveling Pants 2, I had wanted to see House Bunny but it was not out until the following week. We also had a little family party at their house. It was a lot of fun. Now to the good part presents! From my friends Pam and Mitch gave me a 35.00 gift certificate to Samuari, so I had a good excuse to go twice in a week. My family gave me a Madame Alexendar 21" portriat Doll, Toulouse Lautrec, she was only made for one year 1986-1987, She looks even better in person than she does in the pictures. I have collected dolls since I was ten so I am still a baby about that. From Dave, his Dad, Talon, Kaylene, and the Heidi Clan I got an original 1960's hand signed Breakfast at Tiffanys movie poster. The poster is signed by Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard. AHHHHHHHHHH, I was and still am super excited about this present. Thank you again to everyone who chipped in, I adore it!

This pictures is not of my doll just one I found online.

Anniversary Time!

......We posted three new entries so make sure you scroll down and look at them all!
Our third year Anniversary was on May 28th. We have made it a tradition to always go somewhere out of town for our Anniversary even if its only to go camping, to us it is important to just get away together for a few days, without any interruptions.
This year we decided go to Vegas, we stayed at Circus Circus because I thought it would be fun I like the top floor with the games, and circus acts. We won 14 stuffed animals playing the games. Our first night there we went to The Knight show at the Excalibur! It was way fun, everyone was assigned to their own section and knight to cheer for. Our knight was Dragon he is the evil one, I won’t tell the whole story in case anyone wants to go on their own. Our seats were in the front row, so we could really see all of the jousting and other fighting! The dinner they gave us was a whole little chicken, broccoli, potatoes wedges, and soup, for dessert is was a little turnover the food was all very good and the show was amazing. We had a guy in our section that was completely into the whole thing and kept yelling out DRAGON, KILL HIM, HE MUST DIE. It was hilarious and defiantly added to the night, we were glad he was in our section!
For the second night we went to Phantom, I think that show pretty much explains itself they did an amazing job with all of the effects and props.
We got our picture taken at the night show and they put it in a little frame but I keep leaving it at home, without the other pictures there are only four in the slide but at least it is somthing to see.

Daves New Hair!

Dave got a new hair cut(last month), Hurray! He loves it and thinks that this new look makes him look even more sexy than he did before, and I would have to agree with him. Of course he went to Alesha at Hush Hub.

Gone Fishing

Last month in May we went fishing with Talon, and Daves Dad. This is the second time we have gone with them and we are always excited when we are able to go. Both times we went we have gone to Otter Creek, it is a good place to go I would reccomend it. This time though rather than staying in a nearby town they rented a little cabin right across the street from the Creek! Dave and I did not catch anything, we only bought a one day liscence though. I couldnt fish because I have lost my id, to get a fishing liscence you have to have a photo id. The boys caught loads of fish the second day out on the boat and hit their limit in less than an hour!

Winner Winner!

Yesterday afternoon we decided we would in fact go to the midnight showing of Iron Man. At first Dave said he wanted to wait until Friday night but the anticipation got the best of him, so he decided when he got to work he would buy some tickets online. Turns out they are getting crafty, not only was there a midnight showing but the real premiere was at nine! So we went with that one. We got there an hour before at eight and waited in line. Anyone who has ever been to a premiere showing knows the great thing about them is the games they play with you while everyone waits and the free stuff they give out. While in line everyone received a raffle ticket, once everyone was seated there was a drawing for an action figure, we didn’t win, sad day. The next drawing was for a movie theatre poster of Iron Man, the owner of the theatre had one of the patrons pull out the ticket 26 was the winner, I had ticket 26! We won a poster of Iron Man, Hurray, it was great fun neither one of us has ever won a raffle before, it was great. So now Iron Man will be hanging on our wall over our bed. Ha Ha, until we get a bigger house and can move him somewhere else.

Loads to write about!

I just got the our Valentines photos from the photographer yesterday, I colored my hair, and we had Easter. There is a lot to write about. I am putting each one in their own post, that way its more organized I think. My new hair color is much darker, same cut (angeled bob) just a different color. so I thought I would put a picture up for family and friends to see. It is not the best picture, but its not like I am in a photo shoot, and its the only picture I have of the new look for the time being so people will just have deal with it. Although I was thinking today that half of the extended family have never even seen my new cut or when I had it platinum for about nine months now that I'm finally posting Valentines pictures I will be dark in one picture and blonde in the next, Ha Ha. You can not tell in the picture, I do not think you would be able to in any picture but in person there is a lot of red in the color too, which I love! Aleasha is amazing, I have decided if I ever move I am coming back every five weeks so she can do my hair, I do not want anyone messing it up!

Valentines Day!

I am posting Valentines Day first, it comes first on the calendar and if people are not going to read everything I would want them to read Valentines over Easter.
This year we went to the Be Mine event at Brushfire Pottery Studio. The entire store was decorated in Valentines and our table was special with an antique theme. There were cute little name tags so everyone knew where to sit. The night started off with a dinner and live entertainment, and then we had a sitting photo session. After that we each got to pick out a piece of pottery to paint and had dessert. It was a lot of fun! I’m thinking of making it a little tradition for us. A cute way to spend Valentines Day that is going to have more memories than the traditional dinner and a movie.

Easter Excitment

Easter was fun this year, it always is. The Easter bunny always drops off baskets and eggs for an egg hunt. Although this year the bunny was lazy and did not decorate the eggs but rather filled plastic ones with candy. I think its because Easter came so fast this year it was hard to get ready for it. Plus Dave hates hard boiled eggs, and anything they can be made into and I can not possibly eat twenty eggs all to myself so plastic it was. We had the egg hunt this year at my antique store rather than outside, there are a lot more places everything can be hidden.

Happy Birthday to Dave!

Daves birthday was on March 3rd. He is the big 26 now, the downward slope to 40 as he likes to think of it. The morning started off with him getting french toast for breakfast. Its a little tradition his parents had when the kids were younger to make each child their favorite breakfast,so it is one we have carried on in our house. After breakfast we both had to work, but when we got home we went to my parents house and had dinner, a cake and presents. Dave got a Chinese Dragon card, and some carmels from my sister, a chocolate bunny the size of a small child that my dad picked out (he thought this was hilarious) and a ukulele from all of us. He was pretty excited! He already know a song too! He is patiently awaiting the presents from his dad, brother, and sister. On Saturday the two of us are going to carry on his birthday activities

Belly Dancing

Mom and I had another belly dancing performance. The pictures from it did not turn out to well horrible lighting. I thought it would be fun though to add a few pictures from some of Shawazas performances. You can tell if they are newer ones or some of my first by my hair color, Ha Ha.

Our First Post

Well, we have finally decided that even though our family only consists of two people we would give this blogspot a try, thanks to a little prodding from our friends (Jen). Hopefully we can fill it up!
